What is the best age to take your kids to Disney? I hear this question all the time. I think ages 4-8 is probably the peak of fun and excitement. At this age it is all still so magical. They can handle all the walking around and probably don’t need a nap (although everyone may need a nap by day 3).
That being said, one of the biggest challenges is having kids of multiple ages. You may have a child or two in the ideal age range but your other kids may be younger or older. Take heart because everyone will have fun on a Disney vacation. I wouldn’t want to wait until my youngest is the right age because then my oldest may miss out on seeing Disney through the magical eyes of childhood. I would just plan on going back when your youngest is older. You may have to make the trip more than once. Although, you may want to go back several times anyway. I have taken my kids several times and usually with a baby in tow. Disney has some great options to help when traveling with babies such as Baby Care Centers and Rider Swap. As long as you consider your younger children in your scheduling and expectations you will still have an awesome time.
The bottom line ~ Disney is fun for everyone, no matter what age you are. I will continue to take my children every couple years and we will have fun on every trip making magical memories at whatever age they are.
Just to give you an idea of my experience, here are the ages of my children on our past trips.
