One of my favorite parts of cruising, aside from Adventure Ocean Clubs, is the FREE room service. It is available from 5 am to 12 am for FREE (no tip is required). If you need to order from 12 am to 5 am then there is a small fee.
You can order breakfast by hanging a breakfast menu on your door by 3 am. You can pick the time you want your breakfast delivered in half hour intervals from 6:30 am to 10 am. You will get a call a few minutes before it is delivered. The breakfast menu includes beverages such as apple and orange juice, coffee, tea (regular, decaf, earl grey, English breakfast, and herbal teas), and milk (including regular, chocolate, and fat-free). For entrees they have scrambled eggs, scrambled egg beaters, bacon, sausage, hash browns, and baked tomato. If you want a light breakfast (or in addition to your other things) you can order cereal, fruit plate (cantaloupe, pineapple, strawberries, grapes, kiwi, and orange), whole fruit (apple, banana, orange) or yogurt (plain or fruit). Lastly, you can get something from the bakery such as white or wheat toast, assorted baked pastries, and jam, butter, or margarine.
Take advantage of this. We would order breakfast every morning to come to our room. This gave the kids a chance to eat something when we got up and have a more leisurely morning. Even if you plan to have breakfast in the windjammer (they have an omelet station) you can still have your morning coffee or tea delivered to your room.
For lunch, dinner, or an evening snack they have lots of good options as well. They have a soup of the day (usually what they have at dinner), fruit plate, Caesar salad, Mediterranean chicken salad, seeded rye baguette with smoked salmon and brie, turkey and Swiss panini on ciabatta, steak sandwich, fried honey stung chicken, bistro style beef burger, spinach and artichoke dip, breaded fillet of flounder, cheese/pepperoni pizza, cheese plate, chocolate and pear tart, raspberry cheesecake, and cookies.
You can also have coffee, tea, iced tea, hot chocolate, milk (chocolate, whole, or fat free).
We ordered room service again every evening. The kids usually wanted a snack before bed and they would each get a fruit plate. I tried most of the things on the menu and found the steak sandwich to be amazing. It was a whole piece of steak on a grilled garlic baguette with melted provolone and bbq sauce. It was served with french fries. It was soooo good! The cheese plate was another favorite that had 5 types of cheese including, mozzarella, Swiss, blue, brie, and another soft cheese (I don’t know what it was but it was good). The cheese was served with Carr crackers, grapes, apricots, walnuts, and strawberries.
Room service was also helpful in the afternoon when the kids were down for a nap and I wanted a snack while I was reading.
Take advantage of the FREE room service and treat yourself to a treat! After all, you are on vacation!
