The Oasis
Your adventure begins as you enter the park through The Oasis. Lush landscaping, winding paths, and animal habitats create a peaceful introduction to the park. It’s tempting to rush toward your first ride, but take a moment to look around. You may discover some of the smaller animal habitats along the way & even find a camouflaged Divine.
Discovery Island
At the heart of the park stands the Tree of Life, featuring hundreds of detailed animal carvings. Wander the surrounding trails, browse the shops, meet favorite Disney characters, or catch Zootopia: Better Zoogether! in the Tree of Life Theater. This is also a great area to slow down and appreciate the incredible details that make Animal Kingdom special.
Pandora – The World of Avatar
Step into the breathtaking world of Pandora, where floating mountains, glowing landscapes, and immersive details make you feel as if you’ve traveled to another planet.
Must-do experiences:
- Avatar Flight of Passage — a thrilling flight over Pandora on the back of a banshee.

Africa
Welcome to Harambe, a lively African-inspired village and home to one of the park’s signature experiences: Kilimanjaro Safaris. Set out on a safari through a naturalistic habitat where you may see giraffes, elephants, lions, and other incredible animals.
Don’t miss Festival of the Lion King, an energetic live show celebrating the music and stories of The Lion King. You can also explore Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail, enjoy the rhythms of Harambe, and consider a character meal at Tusker House Restaurant.
Asia
Explore the village of Anandapur, where thrilling attractions meet beautiful architectural details and animal encounters.

Conservation Station
All aboard the Wildlife Express Train! Located beyond the village of Harambe in Africa, Conservation Station offers a different kind of adventure focused on animals, conservation, and hands-on fun.
Bluey’s Wild World at Conservation Station invites families to join Bluey and Bingo for interactive games, music, dancing, and playful activities inspired by the popular series.
You can also visit Jumping Junction, where kangaroos and wallabies introduce guests to wildlife native to Australia. Inside Conservation Station, discover how Disney’s animal care experts help care for the park’s residents and learn more about animal nutrition, veterinary care, and conservation.

Tropical Americas: Coming in 2027
Animal Kingdom is preparing to welcome Tropical Americas, a new land inspired by the rainforests and cultures of Central and South America, including parts of Mexico. The new area will be known as Pueblo Esperanza and is planned to feature experiences inspired by Encanto and Indiana Jones, along with a carousel, dining, shopping, and a play area for young adventurers.

- Allow time for animal trails. Some of the park’s most memorable experiences happen away from the major rides.
- Review Lightning Lane options. Check the current offerings, eligibility, and booking rules before your park day.
- Check park hours before planning dinner. Animal Kingdom may close earlier than other Walt Disney World theme parks, so consider your evening plans and dining reservations accordingly.
- Use the My Disney Experience app. Check attraction availability, showtimes, dining information, and park updates throughout your visit.
What’s Changing at Animal Kingdom?
While DinoLand U.S.A has permanently closed, construction has started for Tropical Americas. Disney announced a 2027 opening, while we don’t have a lot of details at this time, please continue to check back as we will continue updating this guide as additional details, timelines, and opening information are officially announced.
