I was so excited when my Beyond the Attractions: A Guide to Walt Disney World with Preschoolers (2012) came in the mail on Friday. I’ve had the pleasure of chatting with the author Lisa Battista and she sent me a book to review. These are my opinions of the book and are not influenced in any way by the author.
Honestly, when I began reading this book I didn’t think there was going to be anything new for me to learn. After all I’ve been to Disney MANY times and with my own preschoolers. I am an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner after all. But, surprisingly, I learned a thing or two.
I found the book very easy to read and full of the essential information for planning a trip with preschoolers. You won’t find every piece of information available here but only what’s applicable to planning a trip for preschoolers. This is great because you won’t have to weed through lots of unnecessary information.
I think it would be helpful to read through the whole book when you get it so you can get a general overview of all the tips and the information available. The book is also well organized so it is easy to look something up when you need the information later.
The resources at the back of the book are also invaluable. All the phone numbers, websites, delivery and rental services, and medical care can be found here so its easy to make your reservations and get help. There are also great lists of rides, restaurants, packing tips and a planning calendar.
I would recommend Beyond the Attractions: A Guide to Walt Disney World with Preschoolers (2012) to anyone planning a trip with preschoolers whether this is your first or tenth trip to Disney. Don’t forget to bring it with you too!
