On every trip to Disney it’s nice to eat with the characters. Most of the character dining options count as just one meal on the dining plan. Meals that are 2 table service credits are noted. Here are my favorite character meals, where they are located and who you can expect to see. By putting a few character meals in your itinerary, you can be sure to see your favorite characters on your trip. Reservations (ADRs) are recommended for all these restaurants. You can make them up to 180 days in advance by calling 407-WDW-DINE or use the online reservation system. Also, please be aware that the characters listed are who is usually seen at these meals. They can be different.
Disney Character Meals
Magic Kingdom
The Crystal Palace – Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, and Eeyore – (B,L,D) Breakfast includes your typical American fare. Lunch and dinner have a salad bar with a variety of meat, fish, pasta, and vegetable dishes. There is a special kids sections with kid friendly food but they can eat anything off the main food bars also. For dessert there are lots of great options including an ice cream sundae bar.
Fairytale Dining at Cinderellas’ Royal Table (2 credits)- Cinderella and a few other princesses – (B,L,D) This restaurant is located inside Cinderella’s castle. You enter from the back side by Fantasyland. Although it is 2 table credits on the dining plan and the tip is included. You will need a credit card to hold your reservation here on the dining plan or pay it in full when its reserved.
Epcot
The Garden Grill – Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale – (L,D) This restaurant is located in The Land in Future World. The meal is all you can eat but is served family style on your table. Some of the ingredients in the meal are grown right there in The Land greenhouse. Now that is fresh!! The meal usually includes salad, steak, turkey and stuffing, and catfish. They also serve chicken nuggets and mac n cheese for the kids. For dessert they offer a decorate your own cupcake for each child. This is a great place to see Mickey since you may get more time with him than at other character meals. Mickey is also dressed as a farmer here so be prepared for a different look. Many people say that this was their best character experience.
Akershus Royal Banquet Hall – An assortment of princesses – (B,L,D,) This restaurant is located in the Norway Pavilion. The princesses here vary but you may see Belle, Jasmine, Snow White, and/or Sleeping Beauty. Breakfast included mostly American fare but lunch and dinner include more traditional Norwegian food.
Hollywood Studios
Hollywood and Vine – Handy Manny, Sofia the First, Doc McStuffins, and Jake from the Neverland Pirates – (B,L) This is a hot spot for people with young children who love playhouse Disney. They have a sing along every half hour or so. We found that it took a while to see all the characters because of all the breaks for singing. It was still fun for the little ones though. Breakfast is traditional American breakfast foods and lunch includes salad, sandwiches, and soup as well as hot dishes and vegetables.
Animal Kingdom
Tusker House Restaurant -Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy -(B,L) The breakfast includes regular breakfast items such as eggs, pancakes, french toast, fruit, bacon, sausage, etc.) There are not that many table service places at Animal Kingdom so this can be a nice way to start the day.
Note:
Please remember that you need to use a park admission to get into any restaurant inside the park. It can take time to get around so plan to eat in the same park that you plan to spend the day.
