Disney Cruise Line Photo Package
There are LOTS of photo opportunities onboard Disney Cruise Line. The best way to bring all these memories home is with a Disney Cruise Line Photo Package through MyCruisePhoto.com. You will get the best prices and the most photos by pre-ordering before you leave home!
What types of photo opportunities are on board?
There lots of photo opportunities. The first will be right before boarding when you can get your family photo taken. Once on board there are photos with the characters. They typically take 2-3 photos of you with each character. You can get even more if you change up who is in the picture. You can check the personal navigator for additional photo opportunities each night around the atrium. These photos have various backgrounds from the atrium, solid white, a sunset on deck, etc. These are great opportunity to get a nice family picture with everyone dressed for dinner. Each night during dinner the photographers will make their way to your table to get a family, individual and/or couples shot. Photographers will also take your photo in Remy or Palo. Don’t miss getting some photos taken on pirate night too! There are also photographers on Castaway Cay taking photos with the ship in the background, characters on the island, as well as some candid shots along the beach.
How many pictures will I get?
This depends on how much your participate in the photo opportunities. We didn’t do every available photo opportunity but did a few and had about 40 pictures on our CD at the end of our 4 night cruise.
Should I still bring a camera?
Yes, you may still want to take pictures of the cute animals left by housekeeping in your room, the kids on deck having fun, and lots of other personal moments. The photographers are not around during the day on the ship taking candid photos.
Where can I view my pictures?
There are lots of kiosks around the ship that you can view your pictures at. You can also visit Shutters to view your pictures both on the screen and hard copies in your portfolio. In fact, I recommend checking in once a day or so to be sure your pictures are all there. This will make it easier to find a missing picture.
How/when do I get my photo CD?
Sometime during your cruise you should check in at shutters and confirm with your receipt that you ordered the CD and your stateroom number, etc. The final morning of your cruise before you depart you will go to a table outside shutters for CD pick up.
What about printed photos?
You can also purchase the printed photos along with or instead of CD. You can view them in shutters and purchase a photo package that includes a certain number of prints or all of them. The printed photos are beautiful with a decorative boarder and date.
What would you do?
We were a family of 5 traveling with the grandparents on a 4 night cruise. We pre-purchased the CD. Any pictures that included one of the 5 of us was on our CD. Pictures of just the grandparents were not since they did not purchase the CD. We had pictures taken with the princesses and Minnie. We also had pictures at dinner taken with the kids and grandparents together. Of course there were several group shots of all 7 of us together. After getting home I uploaded the pictures according to the directions in the CD (it was pretty easy) and ordered lots of prints for the family (from shutterfly) and made a photo book. I thought the pre-printed pictures were better quality than what I printed at home. The images I used for the photobook and Christmas cards were fine. I think next time I would get the pre printed pictures and the photo CD…but thats just me. Overall it was a great experience and I would pre-purchase again. We even had an issue missing a photo when we got home and they tracked it down for us.
How do I pre-order for my cruise?
You can go to My Cruise Photo (this is not a Disney website). Select your ship and sailing date to see the pricing and availability of packages. There are also lots of FAQs there about if you have issues, multiple staterooms, and returns. You can do this about a month before your cruise. Its not available way in advance.
