I recently enjoyed 4 nights at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. I am so excited to share this beautiful deluxe resort with you. The Yacht Club is part of Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resort. They have separate check in areas and buses to the theme parks but meet in the middle at Stormalong Bay (amazing pool area for Yacht and Beach Club guests only).
You know you have arrived at a deluxe resort as soon as you arrive. I was greeted by a cast member who greeted me by name (I was the last one off the magical express bus) and asked me about my trip so far as she brought me directly to the desk to check in. She confirmed I had already completed the online check-in and introduced me to the cast member at the desk who would complete my check in. I love that level of personalized service. It always makes you feel special.
The rooms at Yacht Club sleep up to 5 guests plus a child under age 3 in a crib. The rooms have 2 queen size beds and a fold down day bed. Rooms also have a private balcony. The theme of the yacht club is nautical and has a more formal feel then the Beach Club which is more casual. I found the beds here luxurious and very comfortable although I asked for extra blankets because I like the feel of heavy bedding. I enjoyed sitting out on the balcony that faced the front of the resort and watch as people came and went to the buses for the parks.
Disney’s Yacht Club is considered an Epcot resort since that is the closest theme park. This resort is located on Crescent Lake along with the Boardwalk Resort. You can take a short walk right into the back of Epcot near France. If you don’t want to walk you can take a boat ride over as well. There is also a boat that goes over to Hollywood Studios. I guess you could walk over there but it is a long walk. Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, the water parks, and Downtown Disney are all accessible by the Disney buses.
I love the location of Disney’s Yacht Club. It gives you the rare opportunity to be close to 2 theme parks making it a great resort location. It also has all the restaurants of 3 deluxe resorts, Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club and Boardwalk, within walking distance. Another rare occurrence. In fact you can enjoy everything from character meals, a clam bake, piano bars, sports bar, signature dining, and so much more within these 3 resorts and all within walking distance. Epcot is also my favorite park making it another great reason to stay here.
Disney’s Yacht Club has one of the most unique pools on property. Be sure to have your room key ready when you head over to Stormalong Bay because they will check it on your way in and give you a wristband. This beautiful pool has sand on the bottom, a lazy river, a water slide and more. I enjoyed my last morning poolside. A waitress came around so I could order my lunch from Hurricane Hanna’s (quick service on the dining plan) without getting up from my seat. I also ordered a Mango Margarita that was soooo good! Although my favorite part about the pool was finding a nook under a shady tree where I could put my feet in the pool and read in the shade. That was perfection!
I had a magnificent stay at Disney’s Yacht Club and the only bad thing was having to leave. The cast members there were fantastic and I loved every minute of my stay.
