Walk with Walt Disney
Disneyland is the original park and it is where Walt himself walked. He often spent his days in the park, visiting with guests, and trying the attractions. It has his personal touch from the original design to the improvements throughout his lifetime. He had an apartment over the fire station where he would turn the light on when he was there. After his passing, the light was left on to remind cast and guests alike that Walt was still there.
When he outgrew his over the firehouse apartment, they designed and built another living space over Pirates of the Caribbean called the Royal Suite. Much of the design was influenced by his wife, although he passed away before it was finished and it was put on hold. Later in 2006, it was completed as part of the “Year of a Million Dreams” and was renamed the Disneyland Dream Suite.
If this is a big interest of yours, I highly recommend the Walt’s Main Street Story Tour.
Walt Disney Animatronic
In 2025, Disneyland will have the very first animatronic of Walt Disney. It will be in a show called “Walt Disney – A Magical Life.” What an incredible experience to feel like you are in his presence and hear him talk. This is going to be very special.
Walkable Resort
This is a very unique aspect of the Disneyland Resort. Whether you stay at one of the three onsite resorts or even a good neighbor hotel on Harbor Blvd, you will be able to walk to both parks and Downtown Disney.
For those with strollers or mobility concerns, you never have to unpack your stroller or board a bus. There is also a security checkpoint at the entrance to the area, so once you are through that, you can visit both theme parks and Downtown Disney without another security check.
If you like to take a midday break or want to stay to the end of the night, it is quick to get back to your room, which means more time for fun.
For extra convenience, you can stay at the Grand Californian that has it’s own entrance directly into California Adventure. This is so convenient and perfect for families with young children.
Perfect for Pixar Fans
If you are a fan of the Pixar movies, then this is the resort for you!! First of all, Cars Land is unbelievable. When your cars fans walk into Cars Land, it is like stepping foot inside the movie. If your child is loving these movies and characters then you have to take them to Cars Land. Get a snack at Cozy Cone or go to Flo’s for lunch. Be sure to be back at sunset when the lights go on!
Pixar Pier is also amazing with so many Pixar friends from Inside Out, Toy Story, and The Incredibles. Visit the new San Fransokyo area for a bite to eat. And if that is not enough, maybe you need to book your stay at the new Pixar Place Hotel. In addition to the amazing theme, it has a private entrance into California Adventure and you can see the fireworks on select nights from the third floor pool area along with the broadcast of the soundtrack. WOW!!!
Amazing Avengers Campus
For the Avengers fans, they will not want to miss Avengers Campus. Step inside the training facility and see Avengers while they are in training or hang out with them at a dance party. They have some unique attractions like Web Slingers and Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission Breakout! (personal favorite). The food is super fun too, especially at the Pym Test Kitchen and Tasting Lab where they have food that is either really big or really small and some unique drinks.
What is even more exciting is there are two new attractions coming to this area in the years ahead, but that is not a good reason to wait. Check this area out now and then you will want to come back for more.
This just scratches the surface of what can happen only at Disneyland. Mickey’s Toontown and character encounters are extra special. There are also amazing festivals throughout the year. If you are there during the late fall or holidays, you will find the holiday overlays on select attractions. There are so many things that happen only at Disneyland. It may be time to go or go back to Disneyland in 2025.
