Getting autographs from your favorite characters is a big part of your Disney vacation memories. The Disney autograph books are nice and a great keepsake/souvenir. There are some unique autograph items you might consider next time you are preparing to take your magical vacation.
Creating your own Autograph Book:
If you’re crafty, this might be a fun option for you! You can get your kiddos involved in the creation of their own book and customize it to style/characters that fit your vacation personality.
Directions:
1. Cut about 20 pages of card stock all the same size. We did 5×8 so we could mount photos in the book also.
2. Print on the cardstock – a cover page with your first name and resort (note: this is helpful if you lose it somewhere, people will know where to return it). You can leave all the pages blank or put clip art of the characters you will see (if you have character meals planned). You can organize your book by park and use clip art of the castle and then some blank pages, then Epcot and blank pages, etc. The character signatures in the area where you saw them. When you have it all printed you are ready for step 3.
3. Take your book to staples or another office supply store and they will be able to bind it for you. I recommend asking them to put a clear plastic cover and a leather backing.
My children knew which character(s) we were going to see and at which park and were excited to find their page and see the characters sign their page. The characters seemed to thoroughly enjoy getting to sign their “special” page.
Photo Mat
Another option is when you book a trip with us, we include our 8X10 autograph mat to collect your autographs. After your vacation has ended, you can then place your favorite family picture and autograph mat in a frame and place it in your home to serve as a reminder of the amazing vacation you were able to experience as a family.
Personal Items
Having your favorite characters sign a personal item is also a fun option. A t-shirt, baseball hat, backpack, or a pillowcase all make a more personalized autograph souvenir. The characters can autograph almost anything.
Character Encyclopedia
Another fun option is the character encyclopedia. You can purchase your Disney Character Encyclopedia before your vacation and each character signs their page.
You may be able to find the latest character encyclopedia at your local bookstore or department store or on Amazon.
Don’t Forget
Always bring your own pen or marker when you meet characters, especially if you are having something autographed that you would want to wash. We recommend a sharpie or fine point pen.
Whatever you decide to use for the autographs, it is sure to be an amazing experience that you look back on someday with fondness. I treasure every item we’ve ever had signed by my kids favorite characters.
