Another fun activity to do while in the World Showcase of Epcot is the Passport. You must purchase the kit ($9.95) but I think it makes a great souvenir. Here is what it looks like.
It is so cute because it looks like a real passport with a leathery, blue cover. The kit comes with stickers for every country. You use the passports at the Kidcot Fun Stops. As they go around to the countries they give the Cast Members their passport and they will put the date and time, write a message in their language and stamp it. Later (a great meal activity) you can put the stickers on each page. There are 6 stickers for each country with pictures of famous landmarks plus a flag sticker. Its a great time to talk about those places. The first page has a place to put your child’s picture and their name, address, DOB and other basic info. There are some blank pages in the back that they can write some memories. Here is a picture of the inside of the book when completed. All the pages are the same so you can go to the countries in any order.
Some Tips:
We just put the flag at each country when we went there so we wouldn’t forget which country it was. We did the rest of the stickers later.
This activity is for older children. On our last trip we did the passport with my 4 year old. She was a little on the young side but she still had fun doing it. We didn’t get one for my 2 year old or baby.
It is nice to do one per child (if they are at an age when they can do it) but if that is too costly then you can do one as a family.
You could make your own ahead of time and research each country and make a book ready for the Cast Member to write in. This would be a great educational project especially for home schoolers.
There are 11 countries in the World Showcase including Mexico, Norway, China, Germany, Italy, America, Japan, Morocco, France, United Kingdom, and Canada.
Lastly, here is a picture of what it looks like in the packaging. You can purchase them throughout the World Showcase. Just ask a Cast Member if you don’t see it.
